Fabriano (Favrià in local dialect), is an Italian town of 31,745 inhabitants. The town territory stands at 325 m. a.s.l. in a valley marked by gentle hills and surrounded by mountains from the central Umbria-Marche Apennine and the Marche Apennine ridge ,on which the following stand tall to the north-north west: mount Nebbiano (790 m), mount Strega (1276 m), mount Catria (1701 m); to the west, we have: mount Cucco (1566 m); whilst to the east: mount San Vicino (1479 m); and finally to the south-south west: mount Nero (1424 m) and mount Maggio (1361 m). The river Giano starts from this latter mountain, to cross the town of Fabriano before meeting with the Esino river at the district of Borgo Tufico.
